Laser microdissection for pancreatic cancer- Song Han et al, July 2016

A recent publication by University of Florida investigators highlights the utility of laser microdissection to separate pancreatic ductal epithelium and stroma. Dr. Song Han and colleagues published their studies in Oncotarget describing alterations in miRNA important in pancreatic tumor biology. Laser microdissection was performed by Dr. David Gonzalo, Chief Gastrointestinal Pathology division, and Dr. Michael Freely Department of Pathology, Immunology, and Laboratory Medicine, using fresh frozen tumor samples guided by stained adjacent slides.
